It is a traditional Galician dish. If you want to take revenge against Paul, the German octopus that did pick Spain to win Germany, this will be the most delicious way to do it :) Best served with a bottle of albariño (a very good Galician white wine), but if you can't get it, a good riesling is also fine.

Quote
This dish is prepared by first boiling the octopus inside a copper cauldron. Before actually boiling it, the octopus is repeatedly dipped in and out of the boiling water, held by its head. The objective of this operation is to curl the tips of the tentacles. The tentacles are preferred over the head, which sometimes is discarded. The tendrils are sometimes best cherished by children. After the octopus has been boiled, it is trimmed with a scissors, sprinkled with coarse salt and paprika (pemento picante) and drizzled with olive oil. The optimal cooking point is the one in which octopus is not rubbery but not overcooked either, similarly to the al dente  concept in Italian pasta cooking. This is achieved after approximately a 20 minutes boil, provided that the octopus is left to rest for a further 20 minutes inside the boiled water away from the fire.

I know little about football but here is a compilation of (live) octopus videos and information. You can decide whether an octopus has the intelligence to understand this game, or indeed psychic powers.

Besides that i prefer those fishes in anture then on a tanle as food.
They are such nice creatures and even a bit intelligent.

Did you know they have one prefered leg which they use for handling of most things?

Now, you just leave poor Paul the Octopus out of this. He made his predictions fair and square; no need to be threating him with becoming someone's dinner in retaliation.  ;)

paul said spain will win the soccer world cup, that's very right! yesterday evening, I didn't believe that pauls said the truth about germany will win 3th. place, but he didn't failed, very good ! :)
I have seen all soccer matches of germany team with over 1000 peoples in a big "E-Werk" club, it was amazing the enthusiasm, exciting and feelings. It's quite other thing if you are looking tv with some friends or your wife will go out for shopping or horse riding or other things ;)

I've played soccer over 30 years and I know it's every day if you have a match an other thing how you are feeling and if there are some pressure for you that "you have to win!" for reaching big final, you are blocked or mental stressed so you don't hit the ball with right affect to hit the goal or your contrary is quite quicker, more vitale and has full physical power, you can despair, but the team will win, so you are feeling very overwhelmed. I like and love the young german team, because that was a risk to dive the young fish into cold water and they have managed to swim and they are very technical fitted.

I hope spain will win the soccer cup, because this way germany has lost the match only against the world cup winner. spain has better single player with high quality and they are very routine. This may be the only missing lack of german team to hold against this mature team of villa & co.

netherland is our lovely enemy concern to soccer. I cannot believe that netherland has the power to hit the spain team. paul has a winning quote of over 80 per cent for prediction. I am on paul's side :)

enjoy the game this evening, 20:30 pm MEZ time.

best regards, frank

Somebody has to teach the Dutchs that to win they have to hit the ball, not the opponent.

Thank`s for your accurate translation, Jose!

In German i would say Gemütslage and this word included the Word Mut or mood.
That makes Sense,  related to German as well.

I`ve learned also new things about Paul the Octopus and his Family..
About the intelligence, how they are living and how to eat them on a delicious Way.
I will try to cook "Pulpo a Feira" and prefer a german Riesling.
it sounds and looks really good!

Thank you for the recipe!

Hope besides the chamapagne you have some water left after all :-)).

And be sure your bak account still exists.

You must be joking. If it has been a clear winner of the recent banks stress tests, it has been Spain. Now it is Germany, home to some of those rumors that damaged the Spanish debt (e.g. the dirty maneuvers of the Deutsche Bank and the false rumors of the Financial Times Deutschland), which is under scrutiny: Financial Times [UK] warns that German banks could have hidden data in the stress tests [specially its high exposure to the Greek sovereign debt] and prescribes the transparency that Spain has had with its financial sector.

Spain shines on stress test, Germany flunks

Quote
The refusal of some Landesbanken and German lenders to reveal exposure to EMU sovereign debt has raised suspicions that they have something to hide. Credit default swaps measuring bond risk jumped from 140 to 150 points for HSH Nordbank, with smaller rises for West LB (127), Norddeutssche LB (125) and Deutsche Postbank (121).

Quote
Spain was rewarded by the markets for the high quality of its tests, which cover 95 of its banks and include a 28pc fall from peak-to-trough for finished houses, and 61pc for development land.

Yields on 10-year Spanish bonds dropped 11 basis points to 4.24pc on Monday, outperforming the eurozone. The cost of bond insurance fell for Spanish Cajas. These savings banks are already being restructured. The US buy-out firm JC Flowers has agreed to inject €450m (£377m) into Banca Civica.

It not so much a Firm then one of those persons having their hands in the banlig system everywhere.
The money he pays now to Spain, "Mr. Flowers", he got it from our State for the HSH Bank in North Germany (Hamburg). Its just one of those bigger state-accepted Mafia Clans out there.

Nothing compared with the Deutsche Bank, betting against Spain.

Quote
The full extent of Deutsche Bank's short positions on the Spanish economy have been revealed, and the target is not just the country's public debt.

Deutsche Bank is shorting five different Spanish companies in addition to its €1.1 billion ($1.35 billion) sovereign debt short of Spain, according to Cotizalia. Those companies are:

    * BBVA - €370 million - or 1.14% of the firm
    * Ferrovial - €46 million - or 1.1% of the firm
    * Banco Popular - 0.69% of the firm
    * Grifols - 1.7% of the firm
    * Gamesa - 0.7% of the firm

The positions were announced by Deutsche Bank's London office, which is not subject to the same trading regulations as the German headquarters.

With the invaluable help of the Financial Times Deutschland and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, spreading false rumors that the EU was preparing a rescue plan for Spain (rumours angrily qualified by the European Comission as twisted speculations), and by Angela Merkel, none the less, with his "calculated uncertainity" (please, remove her from office soon).

Sheesh, you fall into the water and your partner tries to drown you...

The concentration found by the laboratory was estimated at 50 picograms (or 0,000 000 000 05 grams per ml).

I don't think that such a tiny quantity can be the result of doping.

As an Italian living in South Africa, there was not enough Grappa in the house to wipe away the memory of this game. Having seen the Italian against England and Germany I started with high hopes and ended with a big headache... I wonder if I will still be alive to see "La rivincita"
